Former Deutsche Banker PleadsGuilty in CryptoFraud
Rashawn Russell, a former investment banker at Deutsche Bank, has pleaded guilty to cryptocurrency fraud. Initially charged in April, Russell admitted to misusing investor funds earmarked for a cryptocurrency trading scheme. He promised investors substantial profits through a digital asset fund called R3 but diverted a significant portion for personal activities, including gambling. Russell also allegedly fabricated financial statements to deceive investors. As part of the settlement, he will repay over $1.5 million and could face up to 30 years in prison. Deutsche Bank, while not implicated, continues to cooperate with official investigations.
